アセタゾラミド
アセタゾラミドは全身性の**炭酸脱水酵素阻害薬**であり、獣医療では主に**緑内障**の管理において眼圧を低下させるために使用されます。また、代謝性アルカローシスや特定のてんかん発作の補助治療として使用されることもあります。 **臨床のポイント：**緑内障に有効ですが、全身性の副作用が少ないため、現在では局所炭酸脱水酵素阻害薬（ドルゾラミドやブリンゾラミドなど）が一般的に好まれます。
作用機序: Acetazolamide reversibly inhibits the enzyme **carbonic anhydrase**. * In the eye: Inhibits carbonic anhydrase in the ciliary processes → decreases production of bicarbonate → reduces fluid transport and aqueous humor secretion → lowers **intraocular pressure (IOP)**. * In the kidneys: Inhibits carbonic anhydrase in the proximal renal tubules → decreases reabsorption of bicarbonate, sodium, and potassium → promotes alkaline diuresis and can cause mild metabolic acidosis.

過量投与
Overdosage may result in severe **metabolic acidosis**, **hypokalemia**, hyponatremia, and dehydration. Treatment consists of supportive care, including intravenous fluids to correct dehydration and electrolyte imbalances, and monitoring of acid-base status.
