概要
α-カソゼピンは、乳タンパク質に由来するベンゾジアゼピン様デカペプチドです。犬や猫において、ペットホテルへの預かり、予期せぬ状況、環境の変化（新しい家族の誕生など）といったさまざまなストレス要因の影響を軽減するための鎮静系サプリメントとして使用されます。
臨床上の注意： 最近の文献レビューでは、不安管理に対するα-カソゼピンの使用を支持するエビデンスは弱いと結論付けられています。単独の治療としてではなく、環境調整や行動療法の補助として使用するのが最適です。
作用機序
Acts as a GABA-B agonist. It mimics the properties of benzodiazepines by binding to GABA receptors in the central nervous system → promoting inhibitory neurotransmission → resulting in a mild calming or anxiolytic effect without significant sedation or muscle relaxation.
