デコキネート
デコキネートは、主に家畜や家禽で**コクシジウム静止薬**として使用される**4-ヒドロキシキノロン**系抗原虫薬です。スポロゾイト期で寄生虫の生活環を停止させることでコクシジウム症の*予防*には極めて有効ですが、**成虫には無効**であり、活動性の臨床感染を治療することはできません。 小動物医療における最も注目すべき適応外使用は、犬における急性期治療後の**ヘパトゾーン症（Hepatozoon americanum）再発の長期予防**です。本薬は静止薬（殺コクシジウムではなくコクシジウム静止）であるため、抑制された寄生虫の排除は宿主の免疫系に依存します。
作用機序: Decoquinate acts specifically on the **sporozoite stage** of the coccidian life cycle. * Sporozoites can still penetrate host intestinal cells, but further intracellular development is halted. * **Mechanism**: It disrupts electron transport within the **mitochondrial cytochrome system** of the parasite → inhibits respiration and ATP energy production → prevents maturation and replication.
