概要
ラタノプロストは局所眼科用プロスタグランジン関連薬であり、主に犬の原発性緑内障の管理および急性原発性緑内障の緊急管理に使用されます。炭酸脱水酵素阻害薬などの他の局所用抗緑内障薬と併用されることがよくあります。
臨床上の警告： ぶどう膜炎および水晶体前方脱臼の症例には禁忌です。妊娠中の動物への使用は避けてください。
臨床のポイント： 水晶体前方脱臼には禁忌ですが、水晶体亜脱臼および後方脱臼の管理には有用な場合があります。ラタノプロストはトラボプロストと同等の活性を持ちます。猫における有効性は様々であり、原発性緑内障の猫において急性的に眼圧（IOP）を低下させることが示されていますが、長期使用の適合性と有効性は不明です。
作用機序
Acts as an agonist for receptors specific for prostaglandin F.
Prostaglandin F receptor activation → increases uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor → significantly reduces intraocular pressure (IOP).

Systemically absorbed latanoprost acid is primarily metabolized by the liver and excreted via urine.
過剰投与

投与方法
- 点眼方法： 点眼の前後に手を洗ってください。容器の先端が目や他の表面に触れないようにしてください。
- 複数の点眼薬を使用する場合： ペットに複数の点眼薬が処方されている場合は、最初の薬が洗い流されるのを防ぐため、各薬の点眼の間隔を少なくとも5〜10分空けてください。
予想されること
- 点眼後、ペットの瞳孔が非常に小さくなる（縮瞳）ことに気づくかもしれませんが、これは薬の正常な作用です。
- 目の軽い赤み（充血）が起こることがあります。
警告
- ペットが妊娠している場合は使用しないでください。
- 目がますます赤くなったり、濁ったり、痛みが強くなったり、ペットが目を細めたり目をこすったりし始めた場合は、すぐに獣医師に連絡してください。
保管
