プロペントフィリンはキサンチン誘導体であり、主に獣医療において末梢および脳血管の血流を改善するために使用されます。高齢犬の加齢に伴う認知機能障害（犬認知機能障害）や嗜眠の管理に処方されることが一般的です。 **臨床のポイント：** 血流を改善し、軽度の気管支拡張作用を持ちますが、最も頻繁には高齢犬の活力や活動レベルを向上させる目的で使用されます。
作用機序: Propentofylline acts primarily via the **inhibition of phosphodiesterase (PDE)**, which increases intracellular cAMP levels. * **Vasodilation:** Increases blood flow to the heart, skeletal muscle, and central nervous system (CNS). * **Cardiac effects:** Exhibits positive inotropic (increased contractility) and chronotropic (increased heart rate) effects, alongside mild antiarrhythmic properties. * **Respiratory effects:** Acts as a bronchodilator. * **Hematologic effects:** Inhibits platelet aggregation and reduces peripheral vascular resistance.

過量投与
