スルファジアジン銀は、獣医療において第2度および第3度熱傷、その他の表在性皮膚感染症や創傷の感染予防および治療に広く使用される局所抗菌薬です。 **臨床のヒント:** 緑膿菌を含む広範な細菌や一部の酵母に対して高い有効性を示します。鎮静効果のあるクリーム基剤と広域スペクトルな有効性から、熱傷管理において特に評価されています。
作用機序: Slowly releases **silver ions** in concentrations that are toxic to bacteria and yeasts. The **sulfadiazine** component also provides local anti-infective qualities by inhibiting bacterial folic acid synthesis. → Silver ions bind to bacterial DNA and cell membranes → disruption of cellular metabolism and structural integrity → cell death. → Sulfadiazine competitively inhibits **dihydropteroate synthase** → prevents bacterial folic acid synthesis.

- Use in pregnant or premature animals (theoretical risk of kernicterus)

過量投与
Overdose is highly unlikely with topical application. Ingestion of large amounts (e.g., if a pet licks a large treated area) may cause mild gastrointestinal upset or, rarely, systemic sulfonamide toxicity (crystalluria). Treatment is symptomatic and supportive.
