概要

破傷風抗毒素は、創傷から破傷風を発症するリスクのある動物の予防および初期治療に使用される抗血清です。遊離した破傷風毒素を中和しますが、すでに神経受容体に結合した毒素には効果がありません。犬や猫の破傷風リスクは非常に低いため、定期的な予防は推奨されません。

作用機序

Antibodies in the antiserum bind directly to tetanus toxin (tetanospasmin) in the systemic circulation. → Neutralizes free toxin before it can enter the nervous system. → Cannot displace or neutralize toxin that has already bound to neural receptors.

安全性・警告

禁忌

  • Cats (due to inability to metabolize phenol preservative)

有害事象

  • Anaphylactoid reactions
  • Hypersensitivity reactions (especially with repeated doses)

注意事項

​Fatal Toxicity in Cats:​ Avoid use in cats due to their inability to metabolize the phenol preservative found in the formulation. ​Anaphylaxis Risk:​ All antisera can produce anaphylactoid reactions, especially if the patient has previously received horse protein products. Repeated doses increase hypersensitivity risk. Have adrenaline or antihistamines readily available during administration.

監視

  • Signs of anaphylaxis (respiratory distress, hypotension, collapse) immediately post-administration
  • Progression or resolution of tetanus clinical signs

Distributed primarily within the extracellular fluid space.
