チモロール
チモロールは局所用の非選択的β遮断薬であり、主に**犬および猫の緑内障の管理**に使用されます。単独または他の局所用緑内障治療薬（炭酸脱水酵素阻害薬など）と組み合わせて使用されます。 > **臨床上の警告：** チモロールは縮瞳を引き起こすため、ぶどう膜炎、水晶体前方脱臼、または瞳孔ブロックの患者には第一選択薬とならない場合があります。全身吸収が起こり、心血管系に影響を及ぼす可能性があります。
作用機序: Timolol acts as a **non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor antagonist**. It decreases aqueous humour production via **beta-adrenoreceptor blockade** in the ciliary body, which subsequently lowers intraocular pressure (IOP).

過量投与
Overdosage via topical application is rare but may lead to exacerbated systemic effects such as **bradycardia**, **hypotension**, and **bronchospasm**. Treatment is supportive and symptomatic. Excess topical product should be flushed from the eye with sterile saline.
