개요
데코퀴네이트는 주로 가축과 가금류에서 콕시듐 억제제로 사용되는 4-하이드록시 퀴놀론계 항원충제입니다. 포자소체 단계에서 기생충의 생활사를 정지시켜 콕시듐증을 예방하는 데는 매우 효과적이지만, 성충에는 효과가 없으며 활성 임상 감염을 치료할 수 없습니다.
소동물 임상에서 가장 주목할 만한 허가 외 사용은 초기 급성 치료 후 반려견의 간포자충증(Hepatozoon americanum) 재발을 장기적으로 예방하는 것입니다. 이 약물은 정균제(콕시듐을 죽이는 것이 아니라 억제함)이므로, 억제된 기생충을 제거하는 것은 숙주의 면역 체계에 달려 있습니다.
작용 기전
Decoquinate acts specifically on the sporozoite stage of the coccidian life cycle.
- Sporozoites can still penetrate host intestinal cells, but further intracellular development is halted.
- Mechanism: It disrupts electron transport within the mitochondrial cytochrome system of the parasite → inhibits respiration and ATP energy production → prevents maturation and replication.

주의

Incompatible with strong bases or oxidizing material. Store in a cool, dry place, preferably in airtight containers. Deccox is compatible with bacitracin zinc, chlortetracycline, and lincomycin.
