개요
간시클로비르는 주로 고양이 헤르페스바이러스-1(FHV-1) 안과 감염 관리에 사용되는 항바이러스제입니다. 시험관 내 연구에 따르면 FHV-1에 대해 아시클로버보다 최소 10배 이상 효과적입니다.
임상 경고: 잠복 바이러스 감염을 근절할 수는 없습니다. 국소 사용에 대한 일화적인 보고는 긍정적이나, 고양이에 대한 안전성이나 약동학은 완전히 보고되지 않았습니다. 난치성 및 중증 FHV-1 궤양의 경우 국소 또는 전신 항바이러스제를 포함한 병용 요법을 사용할 수 있습니다.
작용 기전
Ganciclovir inhibits viral replication by targeting viral DNA polymerase. It depends on viral thymidine kinase for initial phosphorylation → converted to active ganciclovir triphosphate by cellular enzymes → competitive inhibition of viral DNA polymerase → termination of viral DNA chain elongation.

Normal handling precautions should be observed.
Treatment should not be continued for more than 3 weeks. If ocular irritation develops, the frequency of application should be reduced.
