개요
셀레길린(L-데프레닐)은 우울증 및 불안과 같은 순수 감정적 기원의 행동 장애 치료제로 승인된 모노아민 산화효소 억제제입니다. 과동증, 분리 불안, 범불안장애 및 비사교적 행동을 치료하기 위해 행동 치료와 병행하여 자주 사용됩니다.
이러한 감정 장애는 일반적으로 섭식, 음수, 자가 자극 행동, 수면, 탐색 행동의 변화, 두려움/자극과 관련된 공격성 및 신체 장애(예: 빈맥, 감정적 배뇨)를 특징으로 합니다.
임상 팁: 셀레길린은 특히 불안이나 사회적 위축이 동반된 개 인지 기능 장애(CCD)에 매우 적합하며, 노령 고양이의 인지 기능 저하 징후를 치료하는 데에도 사용할 수 있습니다. 독특하게도 점진적인 용량 감량 없이 치료를 갑자기 중단할 수 있습니다.
작용 기전
Selegiline modifies the concentration of monoaminergic neurotransmitters, especially phenylethylamine and dopamine, by selectively inhibiting the activity of Type-B monoamine oxidase (MAO-B), the enzyme that normally breaks down these chemicals.
MAO-B inhibition → decreased breakdown of dopamine → increased dopamine concentrations in the CNS. It also appears to possess neuroprotective properties.
