Rabacfosadine is a prodrug of the nucleotide analogue PMEG (9-(2-phosphonylmethoxyethyl)guanine). Once converted, it acts by inhibiting DNA polymerases → preventing DNA synthesis → causing cytotoxicity and apoptosis in rapidly dividing cells, such as neoplastic lymphocytes.
